Not my artwork, but I still put a good chunk of work in here cleaning up that logo. My source image for it was a mess and most of it got painted over by hand with my tablet.

Nice, but you didn't need to clean up the logo yourself, if you had google image searched for "super mario world 2" and selected "transparent" as the color image you were searching for then you would have found a copy of the logo ready to go just a bit down the page.

Also, while this particular image doesn't suffer too much from this, but sometimes when you just put a logo over and image you may have problems with readability. To avoid this I suggest right clicking on your logo layer and doing an alpha to selection, growing the selection by 1 or 2 pixels, and then maybe feathering the selection to get rid of jagged edges, then on a new layer in between the logo and the image you fill this selection in with either white or black. This separates the logo from the rest of the image and keeps things readable.

Damn, you're right, there is a nice transparent one in the search results. I can't believe I totally missed that initially. I mean, it's not perfect, it's pretty low resolution, small size is all that is needed here and I probably wouldn't had to mess with it.

Also thanks for the advice!
